Happy Monday, DGA!

Last week for First Friday our visitors really enjoyed our March scavenger hunt.  Thank you to all who helped to fill our “grab bags” prizes.  Our winners have been notified and we will show their photos on the website once they have all picked them up.  Their names are listed on the First Friday page on the website.

Cherie from Galaxy Cupcakes told us that Georgetown was highlighted in Austin Tidbits last week.  Check it out: http://austin.gotidbits.com and look for the March 2 blog.  They even plugged First Friday last week!

We want to start early reminding you about our next DGA meeting.  We have some very important presentations from the City on a variety of topics.  We hope you will make your plans to attend, as there is great information that you will want to hear.  Mark Thomas, Director, Economic Development for the City will be our special guest.

Thursday, March 25 ~ 8:30 AM at Amante’s restaurant

A reminder that Cari Miller from CVB has a supply of rack cards about Poppy Festival in April.  If you want some to display in your business, contact her at cmiller@georgetowntx.org

This Saturday is the first Market Days of 2010.  The event is shaping up to be a great kick off event.  We want to remind our members who have a business in downtown that you are entitled to a free booth at Market Days!  If you wish to take advantage of this, we do need an application from you, so we can make a space assignment.  Attached is the application for your use if you wish to reserve a booth.  Our coordinators, Jenny and Stephanie have added some new exciting elements to the market, one of which is a concert series of live music.  Be sure to check it out on Saturday!

Our spring Citywide Garage Sale is fast approaching on Saturday March 27th.  We have posters that we have started to hand out around downtown.  Thank you to all who have displayed them.  We also have post cards that we will distribute for you to hand out to your customers.

We are still accepting renewals and new corporate memberships.  We know many businesses prefer to pay from an invoice, so we will start emailing invoices to you.  If you get one and have already paid, please let us know.  There may be some forms and checks that will come in while we are sending out the renewal notices.  Thank you for your support of DGA and all we are doing to keep our downtown vibrant!

See you around downtown~
