2018 Georgetown Wine & Music
MICAH MARCOS is a singer/songwriter, born and raised in Austin, TX. He’s quickly becoming a familiar name in the Austin area and an even more unmistakable performer because of his high energy style of play and catchy, down to earth, lyrics. In the last year alone he’s booked and performed well over 100 shows throughout Austin and Dallas, including the Dallas Porch, and was selected to play at This Year’s “Local Grooves Local Brews” Fest at the House of Blues. Aside from a growing fan base throughout Texas, his videos are garnering him national attention with over half a million views since the beginning of last year. Micah is unsigned and his career has only just begun to take off. He’s under the mainstream radar now but don’t count him out as he’s sure to take flight.
JENNIFER B & THE GROOVE are a 4-piece, high-energy band who play a wide variety of music, including Blues, Roots-Rock and Americana music. With a fresh unique approach to some great classic covers, the band also incorporates new, original music written by Jennifer, featuring her powerful, soulful, gut-wrenching voice and heart tugging lyrics. The band is planning a release of this original Americana music for Summer 2018 along with an Original cd of Blues music, with Special Guest, Van Wilks, who is featured on four of these original tracks.
In 2003, the band was nominated as Band of The Year through the NAMA awards as well as nominated Best Female Vocalist. Jennifer was nominated and WON Best Female Vocalist in 2004.
Booked all over the Austin area full time, Jennifer B & the Groove have also recently performed at the Music Farm in Charleston, SC and several festivals, including Springing The Blues (Jacksonville, FL) and Merlefest (Wilksboro, NC) with artists such as Old Crow Medicine Show and The Wood Brothers.
THE PETERSON BROTHERS combine youthful energy and modern influences with old-school blues, soul and funk to a create a sound that is uniquely their own. Their live shows feature jam-band style improvisation.
Led by Glenn Jr., 21 and Alex, 18, the Peterson Brothers have toured throughout the United States, and had the opportunity to play with and open for the likes of Gary Clark Jr., Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Buddy Guy, the late B.B. King and other musical greats. They have also played festivals throughout the U.S., including the Chicago Blues Festival, Minnesota State Fair, Riverbend Festival, Austin City Limits Festival, Ogden Roots and Blues, King Biscuit Festival, Old Settler’s Music Fest, Kerrville Folk Festival Lancaster Blues & Roots, Allentown Blues, Brews & Barbecue, and many more. With a standing room only weekly residency at Austin’s famed music hall, The Continental Club, the Peterson Brothers have been referred to as, “The future of Austin music” by Mark Murray of Sun Radio, and “Some of the most talented musicians I have seen come out of Austin” by Jamfeed.
MIKE HAMILTON’s music has been described as "a skillful combination of rhythm & blues, pop, funk and contemporary jazz..." by Kenneth Yarbrough of Boston's WUMB-FM radio.
Mike graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston MA. on a four-year scholarship, while there he received the Outstanding Achievement Award in Instrumental Performance as well as other awards.
Hamilton was a member of the house band for the Viacom network late night show "Live from LA" where he was featured for his album "Natural Attraction". He has also been interviewed on "Black Entertainment Television", "Boston Mosaic", "Jazz Scene" and KSCE-TV. Hamilton has appeared and toured with recording artists such as Neyo, James Brown, Tyrese, Savage Garden, Coolio, Ronny Jordan, Jonathan Butler, and Phil Perry to name a few. He has performed at the BBC London, the NFL World Bowl IX Halftime Show, The David Letterman show, the Turn Ben Stein On show, the Today show, the Boston Globe Jazz Festival and the Santa Barbara Jazz Festival.
